Study in China from Nepal and India
X1 study visa (study over 180 days), converted to a residence permit for study after arrival
China issues the X1 visa for study longer than 180 days on the basis of an admission letter and a JW201/JW202 form, and students must apply for a residence permit for study within 30 days of arriving. Off-campus part-time work or internships need university approval and an annotation on the residence permit, and English-taught MBBS may only be offered by the 43 universities approved by China's Ministry of Education for 2026–27.
